Sketch of our setup.
We have been invited to draw a new edition of Grazing Choreographies during the OEROL festival, a major theatre, music, and arts festival on the island of Terschelling in The Netherlands, in 2025.
We will take ten days to continue working on one drawing (existing of six sheets of paper) this time. Every day, we draw for 1.5 hours. Weather or no weather, the drawing stays on the dike. We draw the grazing patterns of the cows as they unfold before us, in Plein Air. We start around noon. We are very curious to see how the cows will graze the meadows day by day. Book a trip to Terschelling to watch this. (and more) with us.
OEROL festival, June 13-22, 11 am – 5 pm
In November 2024 we visited Terschelling to see what locations we might be able to use for our drawings. We visited the farms of Neeke van Zwol, Corné Zorgdrager, Cees en Margriet Spanjer en Wietse van Deelen.
In the end we concluded that the location at Neeke van Zwols farm was best suitable for the cows, ourselves, the audience, Oerol and last but not least farmer Neeke van Zwol. We will be, if everything goes according to plan, be drawing on the inland dike. One set of drawing tables to the North, the other to the South.
Esther is pointing out the meadow to the North of the Dike.
